The views of the lake and township from the lookout are outstanding and the walking tracks around Cornish Hill provide wonderful scenery and an insight into the mining history of the area.

The Cornish Hill Residents’ Group petitioned Council earlier this year to undertake a heritage assessment of the Cornish Hill mining precinct and the adjacent residential area. At its meeting earlier this week, Council supported a review of existing Daylesford Neighbourhood Character area and the need for application of a Heritage Overlay.

Hepburn Shire Council has released the draft Masterplan for Glenlyon Recreation Reserve, which aims to provide insights for future planning, provision, and enhancement of this popular community asset. The ten-year masterplan has been informed by community feedback, and Council is again encouraging the community to have a say.
